As a writer in development, I am of course interested in learning as I write, so that I can improve my skills. In an effort to summarize some of the things I have learned in the past year, I have whipped up a small, informal essay outlining my thoughts regarding the Journal, how and why I created it. Mosty, it is an excercise to help me digest, but I also wrote it for anyone who is interested in learning about how, why, etc.
You can find it here.
I have posted a new work of short fiction, titled Lives Lost. Check it out here.
Welcome to the Journal of a Cartographer. Thank you for coming!
For just over a year, Hezekiah, a character in the Guild Wars universe, chronicled his journey through the Guild Wars continent of Elona by posting journal entries in this website. The entries detail his experiences as he struggles to overcome his past and find a place in this land of so many unexpected events. He posted almost every Tuesday and Wednesday. In the end, he made 100 entries.
- If you would like to read his journal, the first entry is a good place to start. You can find it here.
- If you want to find out more about the site before jumping in, you can visit the About this Site page.
- If you are looking for a certain entry, you can browse previous entries here.
- If you are looking for a writng assistance, you can find an essay writer for hire here.
Importantly, the story told in Hezekiah's journal is not simply a re-hashing of the Guild Wars: Nightfall story. It is completely new, completely originaly. Only the names of places, skills, and a few characters are not new. Feedback has been extremely positive on the site, so I hope you'll take the time to read it.
Currently (late November 2007) the story is finished. I am grateful for the ArenaNet staff for making such a great world with such wide-open possibilities. They have a great team and their support of the community is top-notch.
Here are some other pieces of fiction I have written over the years.
Those of you looking for Hezekiah's final entry can find it by going to the Previous Entries page, or by clicking here.
